Early in the evening we decided to have dinner somewhere out. Since we are early birds, we had to go somewhere closer to home so that we get back by 9pm. Out of the few options that we had, we chose papermoon, the one at the jaidah square. We had read many good reviews about the place but never have had a chance to visit.
So, today we called them up and asked to reserve a table. We reached around 7 30pm. The ambiance was great. The interior, the lighting, the furniture, the floor, the seating, everything was amazing, in short a place perfect for a dinner date!
We were warmly welcomed by the courteous staff. Luckily our table was in the corner, in a cozy environment. As we were going through the menu, we were served assorted bread basket along with olive oil. The bread was very fresh! The menu had a variety of dishes. It had something for everyone, veges, fish, chicken, beef, everything!
For the starter we ordered Minestrone primavera (mix garden vegetables soup), for the main we ordered Risotto primavera (risotto with spring vegetables), Cernia con pomodorini, olive nere e capperi (hamour with cherry tomato, black olives and capers) And Rollatina di pollo con spinac e funghi (Chicken roll-up with mozzarella and spinach, mushroom sauce). For deserts we ordered Creme brullee all’ arancia (orange crème brulee) and Waterberry for drinks.
The drinks and the soup came really quick. The juice tasted so good, it was very refreshing. But I didn’t like the soup much, the veges gave a bitter taste, which made the soup inedible (well for me atleast).
Well the wait for the main course was long. But I must say it was completely worth it! The hamour fish was cooked so well, the cherry tomatoes tasted great with it, it was a well balanced dish. The risotto was good too. But the winner was the chicken roll-up! We absolutely fell in love with it. It was plain perfection. The mashed potato, the spinach, the cheese, the mushrooms, in short every single ingredient of the dish synced so well with each other!
According to our appetite, the portions were huge. We really enjoyed every bit of it. Then came the dessert, which was the cherry on the top. The orange crème brulee was well presented with berries.
In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service, the food, the ambiance, everything was worth trying. We would love to go back, for another pleasant Italian experience!
