An Unexpected Trip To Pizza Express

We tried Pizza Express this Saturday, after a long time. We had it years ago, and to be frank weren’t expecting much. It was just that we were very tired and hungry after shopping, when we passed through Pizza Express near the food court at Villagio.

The place was very peaceful with very few tables occupied. We were seated inside. We liked the new look of pizza express, blue dim lighting along with black and white furniture looked nice. We were given two menus, one main menu and one seasonal menu. There were a lot of options to choose from, variety of pizzas and pastas. For starter we ordered Stuffed Garlic Bread with Mozzarella, from the seasonal menu. For mains, we had Polpette Bolognese from the seasonal menu, Penne Funghi Chicken Pasta and Pollo Ad Astra from the main menu. For deserts we ordered Passionate Mess from the seasonal menu.

The food arrived really quickly. We loved the starter. The bread was really soft and fresh. When we tried it with chilli oil and olive oil, it tasted even better. The main course was equally good as well. Pollo Ad Astra looked mouth watering. And trust me it tasted great as well. All the ingredients gelled well with each other. The bread was fresh and seasonings were adequate. Same was the case with Polpette Bolognese. The small meatballs delicately put together on freshly baked crust with fresh rocket leaves; it couldn’t get any better than that. Penne Funghi Chicken Pasta looked tempting too, with creamy sauce and fresh mushrooms. Though, I think it lacked a bit of seasonings. We liked the desert as well. It was a tropical twist on the Eton mess, which tasted good with crumbed biscuits and passion fruit.

One thing which we would especially like to mention here is that the service of the place was great. We really liked it. Our food came super quick. The staff was polite and efficient. The manager was very concerned about all the customers, looking after each table personally. Our server looked after us very well.

We must say that Pizza Express well exceeded our expectations this time, we are glad that we gave it a try after so long. Hoping to see them more often in the future!
