All Things Good: Sarab Lounge, St. Regis

Earlier this week we made a reservation at The Sarab Lounge, St. Regis, for afternoon tea. We had heard ‘all things good’ about the place, so were looking forward to a great experience.

As soon we reached, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. Soon after we got seated, welcome drink ‘Iced-Tea’ was served.

The lounge is beautifully designed with an indoor as well as outdoor space. The indoor area is cleverly segregated between smoking and non-smoking area. While the outdoor space overlooks the hotel’s pool and beach.

The lounge serves a variety of afternoon tea trollies from a set menu seven days a week but every Saturday, guests have an option to either choose trolly(ies) off the menu or go with the buffet, which is priced at Qr. 195 per person (and Qr. 95 per child).

We decided to go with the buffet. The buffet includes a lavish display of sweet and savory items ranging form fresh fruits to sandwiches, scones to salads and cupcakes to shawarmas! Unlimited supply of variety of tea and coffee is also included.

The buffet spread looked so pretty and attractive. Every single item appealed the eyes very well. And let us tell you, every single item tasted even better!

We liked almost every thing, but our favorites out of the lot were:

Coming towards the tea, Ms. Maria gave us an extensive description of the variety of teas available. There were around 12 different varieties of teas to choose from.

We chose Jasmine tea, White tea and their Signature Lemon bush tea. We liked the Lemon Bush tea the most, a South African de-caffinated tea which is also rich in Vitamin C.

We were also introduced to the “Hot Chocolate Trolley” which is not included in the afternoon tea but is available from 12 in the afternoon till 10 at night, at a charge of Qr. 50. Guests can choose their choice of chocolate such as Caramel, Javara or Guanaja. The Hot Chocolate is served with marshmallows and homemade cookies.

So, to summarize it all, we would say that we had a wonderful experience at The Sarab Lounge. We loved the calm and quite atmosphere of the lounge accompanied with the charming staff which looked after us really well. The view, the seating, the lighting, everything was just perfect. The venue can serve as an equally perfect choice for a birthday celebration or a family get together or a friends re-union or even for some ‘me-time’!

Looking forward to visit Sarab Lounge really soon again 🙂
