The Chippy

We had been hearing good things about The Chippy Qatar, especially about their authentic fish and chips. So, we headed to Bin Omran to try it for ourselves.

It’s a small outlet which can hardly accommodate six guests at a time. We guess this is why, majority of their orders are for home delivery.

Now coming to the food, we had:

Fish Burger:

Our favorite dish of the night was this amazing burger. With soft bun and crispy fish fillet, it had all the ingredients of a perfect ‘fish burger’. It was served with french fries. Tartar sauce was also provided on request. So it was like the perfect combo.

Margherita Pizza:

Not the best one we have ever had, but was good enough. We loved the thin crust, not too crispy or soggy, just right!

Fish (Hamour) and Chips:

They do three different types of fish for fish and chips; white fish, hamour and cod. We chose the hamour fish. It was served with tartar sauce and quite a lot of chips. The fish was crispy, taste was good and the serving size was fine too. But while eating, we found a chunk of raw fish! It wasn’t cooked properly from one side. We were offered another serving but we kindly refused as something like this just kills your appetite.

So, overall, everything was good until we found that uncooked piece of fish. Apart from that it was a smooth experience. The staff was pleasant, service was good and it wasn’t difficult to find parking. But it was quite hot inside. Also, they don’t accept card so you need to go out and find an ATM nearby if you are out of cash.
